Oil Canvas Framed

Does leaving an oil painting on canvas unstretched damage it?
I have several oil paintings that are around 3-4 years old on canvas. I have yet to get them stretched and framed. Will leaving them unstretched ruin them or damage them in some way? Some of them have ripples that you can see, but it doesn't bother me, asthetically. I just want to know if I'm doing damage to the paintings and if I should just go ahead and get them framed for the long-run.
You didn't say if they had been painted while stretched and then remover from the stretcher or not. If they were gessoed and painted unstretched and then later stretched I do wonder how the stretching might effect the gesso ground that had dried in position.. However, canvases are re-stretched sometimes during conservatory work. But in those circumstances if there is damage, the repairs would be done then and there. I think care should be taken paying attention to what is going on while stretching them and for some time after. Watching to see if anything lifts off of the canvas. One of the links on re-stretching painted canvases on this search page is dead. But the PDF file isn't
