Vincent Van Gogh was one of the most celebrated artists of painting and was born in Groot-Zundert, Netherlands. Van Gogh was born in the family of a pastor and was brought up in a cultured atmosphere. He was only 7 years old when he decided to paint his first professional painting. He started his career at a really modest as a clerk in a bookstore and finally decided to study art in Belgium. The works of Vincent Van Gogh was stark, strikingly beautiful paintings belonging to any genre. One of the most popular works and works early this famous portrait artist is "potato eaters."
Although he had to face a lot the hassles of this action after the break his first major, as local priests of the village of Paris forbade any of the relevant local models to submit to. In 1885, he again took his brush to paint still life paintings, of which he was able to receive recognition for his two works - "Still-Life with Pipe and Straw Hat" and "still life with Clay Pot and Clogs" by critics. In 1886, he traveled back to Paris to study at Fernand Cormon's studio. During his stay in Paris in Montmartre, he painted many paintings exhibited in the streets of this region from all angles in a unique way.
Van Gogh's brother, Theo was the manager of an art gallery in Paris and therefore he used to help his brother in the sale of his works, but he could not be much of a help as the colors used by this brilliant artist was duller than those that were used by art experts and prominent portrait artists of that time as Pissarro, Monet, and Gauguin. That's when he realized and added spark of bright colors works his excellent art.
Vincent Van Gogh was a very nervous type of person and therefore he can not reach a quiet personal life and marriage with any of his spouse. Relationships and stress of long working hours delayed him to move to Arles, where he looked forward to enjoying the company of his friends. His health problems became too severe that they began to exhibit themselves in the form of epileptic fits. One day while he was fiddling with a razor open, his friend Paul Gauguin stop it and in the midst of this hustle, Van Gogh accidently cut a piece of his ear lobe.
Friends his were left with no other option then admitted it in an asylum in Saint-Remy for mental treatment. In 1890, when his mental state was stabilized a bit, he moved to Paris suburb to live along with his brother Theo. Although he got cured of mental illness, Vincent Van Gogh knew that he was no longer able to paint in the same way as before. This became the reason most distinguished his death on July 27, 1890.
